Mallorca pics

MallorcaChristina, Paloma, Christinas brother Dennis (The Hulk), Grandmother Hanne and I were invited to Mallorca by Christinas parents Birthe and Asger. We rented at cool appartment in Santa Ponsa and the weather was excellent. It was 100% relaxation for everyone and we even got to visit La Poule Toquee once again to celebrate Asgers birthday! We were in the pool, at the beach, enjoyed good food and chilled beverages, played minigolf and that was it! Enjoy some of the pics here!

Even with loads of Germans and Brits,  we love Palma!!!!!!

Mallorca, still no new laptop plenty of excuses

Just got back with the family (in laws included) from Mallorca and we were off line except for the very few mobile pics uploaded to 23. We were off line. An update will follow and when we get our new laptop, loads of pics as well! Vaya con dios!

Wienerschnitzel it is…

tonight! After having a Curry Bratwurst for a snack, we have decided on some more local food. We are going to the Restaurant Knese, just off K-Damm. Will Twitter the result later!

Yesterday we had Sushi neat Savigny Platz, Saturday at Amrit (Indian) on Oranienburger Strasse 45. Both were good (especialy the prices, food is cheap in Berlin). For lunch it was Thai at Kamala also on Oranienburger Strasse!

Monday: Annie Leibovitz – Berlin Exhibition

Tomorrow it is suppose to rain a bit, so why not be cultural and check out a cool exhibition: Annie Leibovitz, “A Photographers Life- 1990-2005. Saw the documentary on Annie L last year, and what luck, her only exhibition in Europe (as I understand) is here and now in Berlin. Check the info here!

Golf trip part 2 – the summary

Weather

First 2 days was windy and rainy. The last 3 was actually quite sunny and at some moments T-shirt weather. Can’t complain about that.

wintergolf

The golf

5 days of golfing is over. With the “Air Berlin Winter golf 2009” package we managed to play 135 holes between 4 different courses. And that’s all we did; play golf, eat and play cards. I took a hard beating the first couple of days but came back strong on the second half of the stay. All I do know is that I need more practice to get down from my 27 handicap. The best course we played was 100% “Golf de Club Alcanada” in Alcudia. The club was founded in 2002 and is owned by the great grandson of the founder of Porsche. Yes his name is also Mr. Porsche. Not only was the course beautiful but the service was imminent and I just read on their website that the German magazine “Golf Journal” made a survey in Germany putting the course in it’s top ten courses in Europe for the past 3 years. For 2008 it came in 2ndin front of the likes of the K club, Valderrama and St. Andrews.

bar-bosch

Coffee

Bar Bosch at Placa Rei Joan Carles every time in the middle of Palma. First time I was there was with Christina in 2003 and it’s still the same. Good coffee and same old grumpy waiters. It is said to be the oldest coffee house on the island. It has the best location and the definitely has it’s fair share of grumpy old waiters which has its charm.

carrefour

The Food – “La Poule Toquee” we love

Food was good. The first couple of days we made our own food with the help of Carrefour (I love going to the supermarket outside Denmark). James and Jacky made shrimps and pasta and the next day we had a beef stew. Day 3 we went for dinner in Palma for tapas, can’t remember the name of the place but it was good, especially the sardines. Day 4 we had dinner at Port d’Andratx. We all ordered the Paella, it was ok but not my favorite dish I must admit!

la-poule-toquee

Our last evening was at “La Poule Toquee”in Palma (La Rambla). French cook and name, Mediterranean kitchen. Euge and Mik recommended from their stay back in September 2008 the place. And a fine recommendation it was. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was excellent and the cook and owner Jerome was KING. When he heard about us knowing the Torres’ and the Medinas he was so happy came that he put his favorite bottle of Armagnac from 1982 on the table for us to drink. The place was great!

Port Andratx – Golf trip part 1

2009-02-06-042_edited-12 We made it to Mallorca! 2,5 hours flight and rain! We are staying at Port Andratx and will start our first round of golf tomorrow. We are staying at Nick & Anne Halls beautiful appartment with a view of the sea. That’s right it is sweet. But right now we have thunder and lightning so lets see what the golf weather is like tomorrow. Stay tuned for more and pictures if the bandwith wil allow it!

But hey, at least I get to go to Mallorca!

imagesgolfThis Friday (6th of February) I’m going for 6 days of golf in Mallorca, coming home 10 hours before my ankle surgery. So it’s not all that bad!

Here are some of the courses that we will be playing:

Inter vs AC Milan – I’m missing out!

images-dinhoThe 13-16th of February I was suppose to go to Milan with Bri, Mik, Daniel and Henrik to end the weekend with the super derby Inter vs AC Milan. The likes of Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, Beckham etc. Superstars of Italy and I’m having surgery Thursday the 12th. Doctors words: “No flying afterwards”. Could I’ve moved surgery? Yeah, until the end of March first and with 6 weeks in a casc and about 6-10 weeks of getting my leg up to speed, Tiger would be born and that’s just not happening! Tough luck, let’s see if I can change my ticket so Euge can go instead!
