In Odense visiting the Loeftgaards

This weekend we were in Odense (about 160 km from Copenhagen) visiting Uyen and Henrik where we stayed in their beautiful house with great nature surrounding it. As always they are perfect hosts with great food and company! Here are some random pics from the trip. Oh yeah, Lola was there, she’s just in the pram!

Lolas christening!

Thanks to the +120 guests who turned up to celebrate the christening of Ophelia Lola Soriano! The day started about 11 AM at our local church, Sct. Annes, where Father Wieslaw held a record-breaking ceremony of about 25 min! Lola slept through the ceremony and made it really easy for us. Lolas godparents were Malene (longtime friend of Christina), Gitte (Christinas cousin), Michel (Jonathans Cousin) & all the way from the States Daniel (longtime friend of Jonathan).

After the christening the party continued in Dragoer, were Christinas grandmother has a summerhouse. The venue was perfect and at same place where Palomas christening was held. And  forget about the weather, it was amazing, I dare say it was one of the last summerdays of the year, end of September and people were seeking shade because of the sun. Out of the +120 guests about 30 of them were kids and they had loads of fun and luckily there was a great playground for them to frolic around.

Thanks to Grandpa Jesse and Lolo Jerry for the fantastic food and there was plenty of it. And the cakes were popular as well, instead of having one kind of dessert we opted for many different cakes…we had some of the guest make them. Huge success, thanks to Angela, Nat, Malene, Great Grandma Hanne, Christina, Anna, Mormor Birte and not to forget Morfar Asger (yes, we did enjoy your banana cake)!

 And thank you everyone for the gifts – much too much. Lola got a lot of cool gifts and a wad of cash for her saving’s account. We wanted to buy a cargo bike from the money, but we decided to buy it for the girls as a gift for them both. Again thanks to grandpa Jesse & Lolo Jerry for making the food, Mormor & Morfar for the contributions and everyone for making the day special!

Dinner with good ol’ friends

A couple of days after the christening I had dinner with Eivind, Daniel B and Daniel C at Wokshop. The reason why I choose to mention it here is that we seldomly get the chance to meet up all together because of work, studies or in Daniel C’s case, lives in the States. So it has been years that the four of us have sat down for a dinner and it was great and it all started almost 18 years ago!

Henrik & Maryannes wedding was awesome!

Good food, good drinking, great company, hot weather, great DJ, good work by the best man and of course thanks to Maryanne & Henrik for a great party Saturday! Best wishes for the future! Oh yeah and thanks to Jessica for being the first to throw up and passout, loove ya!

Dragoer: The Landrocks

It’s become a tradition that we hook up with the Landrocks (Morten, Kat, Amelia, Siri & Scooby) now and then. Last time we saw them was last year in Cambridge. So now it was our turn to be host. We stayed out in Chris’ parents house (in the latter part of July) while they were out sailing. The weather was crap but the company great! We managed to do some good eating, canoeing and even Eivind and Mora came by to eat the fresh fish from the harbour!

Inter vs AC Milan – I’m missing out!

The 13-16th of February I was suppose to go to Milan with Bri, Mik, Daniel and Henrik to end the weekend with the super derby Inter vs AC Milan. The likes of Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, Beckham etc. Superstars of Italy and I’m having surgery Thursday the 12th. Doctors words: “No flying afterwards”. Could I’ve moved surgery? Yeah, until the end of March first and with 6 weeks in a casc and about 6-10 weeks of getting my leg up to speed, Tiger would be born and that’s just not happening! Tough luck, let’s see if I can change my ticket so Euge can go instead!

Sidsel Storm out now!

Thursday we were at Christinas friend Sidsels release party for her new Jazz album at Nørrebro Bryghus (Sidsel was the fine lady who sang at our wedding!). Jazzy and mellow tunes and good beer! Hear the tunes (and buy!) at www.sidselstorm.dk and if you are from or in Copenhagen Ms Storm will be performing at different venues during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival also at above mentioned microbrewery slash restaurant. Oh and she does rock, “Butterflies and Lovers” rocks!

Pintxos – Guys night out!

Last Friday we went to Pintxos, a Spanish tapas bar. The team consisted of Daniel B, Store Lars, Alex, Mik, Euge, Bri and myself. Food was good, service was all right and the price would have been too if they hadn’t screwed us on the tequila shots we had; 70 DKK (14 USD or 9,4 Euros)a pop, that was the price for two beers!!!! But the food was good! It was supposed to have been an early night until somebody ordered the shots, it ended early allright. Early morning!!!!!!!!!!
