Part Due!

Okay, we went to Cinque Terre, Monday, where the view was amazing. But we ended up walking the coastline in the national park, that was fantastic, but it took almost 2 hours of walking up and down from Monterossa to Vernaza. Don’t do it with a hungry tired pregnant woman. She got her prize the first Italian pizza of the trip. Tuesday we went to Florence, absolutely beautiful city, but it was so hot and there was tons of tourists. We tried to make it to the Uffizi, the worlds oldest gallery! The Q was ridicolous! We bought tickets for Thursday as we where going back to have dinner with friends. After the beating from the hills of Cinque Terre we decided to take it easy Wednesday and stay in the Lucca vicinity. We visited a little vineyard 7 km from Lucca, where we were given a tour. The estate is called Le Murelle and only had a production of 20000 bottles a year. We asked if they had an export and guess what? We could get their products in Cph. Awesome. We bought some red wine and most importantly the wife had a little hobby of making her own Extra Virgin Olive Oil. She brings her olives to the press and stays to make sure that her olives aren’t mixed up with others and cares for it. Check out their site here. You can actually stay there and it is beautiful. Oh yeah, and during all of this we are still eating great food! Thursday our last full day before we headed home. We had tickets to the Uffizi. That was so cool. Da Vinci, Sandro B & Michel Angelo to name the most known. Especially Bottechelli’s “Birth of Venus” which you probably have seen so many times in postcards etc, to see the real deal was a thrill. Oh yeah, if you ever go to the Palazo Vecchio in Florence, don’t buy icecream there if you don’t believe in overprized icecream. It’s good i Italy but not 22 euros good (check the pics for a peak of 22 Euro’ worth. It was for two though. In the evening we met up with Was, Tina, Hassan & Lena, friends from Cph. They are spending the weekend in Florence, so we went up to a place called Fieresol (top of a hill top with a view over Florence) for a killer dinner & wine at a restaurant called “Pereus”. We had all different stuff but the famous Fiorentino grilled Beef was like butter! It was Crazy! Anyway we are tired and on our way home. Tuscany is well recommended!! We love it! Check out the updates of pics here.

Tuscany part one.

Yes, that’s right Christina & I are enjoying ourselves in the beautiful surroundings of Lucca. It’s our third day here and we’ve found a little cafe with a wireless transmitter so we can tell you folks how we are doing. The part 1 thing will not guarantee a sequel, but you will never know. Anyway, the first day we spent in Milano. Sightseeing, eating great food and icecream. The next day we took the car down south of Milan to Lucca. A 3 hour drive with a lot of q’s! When we made it to St. Michel, Lucca, were we have rented an appartment, we were absolutely taken away. Just outside Lucca, on a hillside, within an estate, with a view over the mountains of Tuscany, with a large swimmingpool, a church on top of the hill that plays its Sunday service over the speaker so you can hear it everywhere and of course food with lots of olive oil!! And more olive oil!! That is what we are enjoying. Today we went to Pisa to do the tourist “I’ve seen the falling tower” thing and then off to the beach! When we then got back from that we just dazed by the pool. The next couple of days we will be visiting La Spezia (rather Cinque Terra), Siena and Florence. We will be hunting for good oils to bring home, we got loads of space!Anyway enough writing check out the pictures here. Oh yeah, because of all the good food and my big belly, we get up in the morning and take a run in the hills to even the score against the good food. And from tomorrow we will run and do 10 laps in the pool, that’s how good the food is!! Talk to you soon! Guys keep the live updates of the games coming for Jonathan. Massive hugs & Kisses. Christina and Jonathan

Euge has an inhalor!
June 3, 2006 · Leave a Comment
This is Eugene B Torres, he went missing for a week. He was suppose to spin with me, but did I hear from him? No. Well, finally I got him out of bed and in the gym. 15 min before the class started I met up with him and he had a cigarette in his mouth. I then point at it and he shruggs his shoulders and pulls his inhalor (asma folks) out as if to equalize the effect of cigs. He, he. He then asked me if I would be his moral support as he is getting married in a couple of months. And of course the hero that I am, I would love to see my friend, former alter boy in arms, get in shape for this. And see the pain as well. He’s getting married the 19th of August! And to make it more fun I will keep tabs on this blog, so everybody can follow on his excellent attempt to trim up. After an hour of spinning I asked:”You want a banana or an apple?”, Euge:”None. I’ll have a cigarette”! Lol! Never mind, he has an inhalor!Lol! He will trim up, I think. Please do comment on Euge’s mission!

It’s a guy thing…..

It’s about that time. We have waited 4 years for this and it’s gonna launch next week! Yes, it’s the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in soccer ladies! From the 9th of June and only untill the 9th of July. Only 1 month of true joy and passion and then we have to wait another 4 years for this euforia! I’ll explain why I refer to the ladies. My girlfriend had been warned for 2 months that I would be unavalaible in mind at 3-5pm(some days), 6-8pm & 9-11pm in this period. She just laughed and said allright! With the WC just around the corner she tells me she wants a vacation from the 17-24th of June!!!! I tried to refer to the warnings I had given her, and she just shrugged her shoulders and thought it was all a joke. A joke?!! I have passionate phonecalls from friends describing the warmth thats is brewing inside of them because of this event. I know grown men that would have their week ruined if there was a energy shortage and I guarantee you that they would find a way to get to a tv in a split second. Fact is my woman does not understand this passion. And I guess I will have to go on some vacation. And you probably think I’m week, but I guarantee, even if I’m in Africa or Southern Europe I will find a screen and I will be unavailable in mind at 3-5pm, 6-8pm and 9-11pm! It’s a guy thing!

Spinning – hurts like f…… hell!
June 1, 2006 · Leave a Comment
Well, two years of stress and owning a restaurant has left its marks. About 15 Kilo’s of marks. And god knows I’ve tried to get in shape, but there has always been an excuse and I love food. Anyway, I’ve started spinning (I bought the gear 2 months ago) only to take days of Wednesdays and Sundays from it, 5 times a week. Goal: lose 15 Kg, lose my nickname fatboy & get more energy to serve my pregnant girlfriend! Anyway no more excuses, it hurts like f…… hell, but lets see if I can lose the fatboy name over the summer. Got my 10th spinning class in two weeks tonight and I dread it!!!!!
